Overview
HiraBricks is an internal web application designed to streamline operations for a brick manufacturing company using tunnel kiln technology. The app digitizes manual processes like inventory tracking, production monitoring, and resource management, replacing error-prone paper-based systems. Its goal was to improve operational efficiency, reduce resource waste, and provide real-time data analytics.
Process
The project started with on-site observations at the brick factory to understand workflow bottlenecks. I worked as kiln operators and managed to map out critical features, such as temperature logging and cart position, type of brick, soil along with raw material inventory. The frontend was built with Html5 and tailwindcss for its interactive dashboards, while django handled backend operations for its real-time database capabilities. Key challenges included designing for low-literacy users—solved with icon-driven interfaces and minimal text.

Outcome
The deployed app reduced material wastage by 15% through accurate tracking and cut reporting time by 60% with automated data collection.
